- "marvellous...a delicate daisy chain of unexpected sex and East London manners...a subtle joy. Channing (gives) a magical performance steeped in wit and melancholy...A scene where Kate asks her unwitting new lover for the whereabouts of aspirin in her mother's kitchen is genius. A bitter-sweet joy." - Times
- "one of Bob Hoskins' best performances in years" - The Independent
- "wow! It reels you in and you're hooked" - Baz Bamiboye, Mail
- "Crackling with wry wit and bittersweet wisdom, Sparkle dazzles on all finely tuned levels...another talented triumph, another little gem from Hunter and Hunsinger" - Film Review
- "an intelligent, understated piece of drama. Sparkle is a superior reminder that there's still finesse to be found in British film's indie sector." - Uncut
